Delete data in the Android app
You can delete TinyLeap data directly from the app:
- Open TinyLeap.
- Open Profile.
- Under Trust & Transparency, tap Privacy & Data.
- Scroll to the Privacy & Data deletion controls.
- Choose Delete All Child Data to remove child and family data from this device while keeping your saved legal-document acceptance, or choose Withdraw consent and delete child data to remove all local TinyLeap data and saved legal acceptance.
- Review the confirmation message and confirm the deletion.
Deletion is user-initiated. TinyLeap does not operate a central TinyLeap account or central family-record database.
What is deleted
Delete All Child Data permanently removes the TinyLeap child profiles and locally stored family records from the device, including care and feeding records, sleep records, growth measurements, milestone records, profile photos, milestone photos or videos, and cached exports. Local widget bindings and notification state associated with the deleted data are also cleared.
Withdraw consent and delete child data removes the same local family data and also clears saved legal acceptance and other local TinyLeap preferences covered by the withdrawal flow. The app then returns to the legal notice and onboarding.
Google backup and Family Sync
TinyLeap's Android cloud features are optional and are separate from local storage.
- Private Google backup: an existing TinyLeap private backup in the hidden Google Drive app-data area is separate from the local-delete action and is not automatically deleted when you delete local data. It remains until it is replaced or removed through the relevant Google account or platform controls.
- Family Sync — family owner: if the current device owns a TinyLeap Family Sync workspace, TinyLeap attempts to delete the shared TinyLeap family workspace from Google Drive before completing local erasure. Google authorization may be required.
- Family Sync — invited member: deleting data on a member device removes that device's local TinyLeap data but does not delete the family owner's Drive workspace or copies already held by other authorized participants.
If you want to prevent future scheduled Google backups, turn off Automatic Google backup in TinyLeap before starting the deletion flow. Turning it off does not by itself remove an existing private Google backup.
Request deletion help
If you cannot complete deletion in the app, or you need help understanding a remaining Google Drive or Family Sync copy, email tinyleapsupport@gmail.com with the subject TinyLeap data deletion request.
Please do not send unnecessary child or family records in the email. TinyLeap will assist with TinyLeap-controlled data handling and provide guidance for data stored in user-controlled Google services when applicable.
What may be retained
- If you choose Delete All Child Data, saved acceptance of TinyLeap legal documents is retained. Use the withdrawal option if you also want to clear that local acceptance.
- A private Google Drive backup is not removed by the standard local-delete action and may remain until replaced or removed through the relevant Google account or platform controls.
- Copies already synchronized to another authorized family participant's device may remain on that participant's device until they delete them.
- Google Play purchase, subscription, transaction, and account records are controlled by Google and are not deleted by TinyLeap's local-data deletion flow.
- If you contact TinyLeap support, the support communication may be retained only as reasonably necessary to respond to the request, maintain security, resolve disputes, or meet legal obligations.
TinyLeap does not use a fixed server-side retention period for child and family records because the Operator does not maintain a central copy of those records.
